Three students achieve Silver Navigation Award
Mountain Experience were delighted to award three students with the National Navigation Silver Award this weekend.The course was delivered and assessed by Nigel Lewis, who holds the International Mountain Leader award.
Braving heavy rain and poor visibility over both days, the students successfully navigated themselves and their team mates over open ground and several summits.
But the poor weather didn’t spoil things. “I really enjoyed it!” said Penny L and John P said, “The best thing about the course was the clarity of teaching.”

A few places left on Spring 2015 NNAS Silver Award
There are a few places left on the training and assessment for Silver National Navigation Award on 11th and 12th April & 2nd and 3rd May.
It costs just £65 for the training and assessment to gain this National Award.

Mountain Experience are delighted to announce two successful candidates in the last of this year’s NNAS Silver assessments. Heather and Ingrid braved some dreadful weather that really tested their navigational skills and physical stamina, to successfully achieve the Silver award.

“It was excellent – I felt quite apprehensive and unsure of my skills to start with, but now feel I have a solid base on which to build. It was fun too!” said Heather. “Nigel’s methods are ‘non threatening’ He makes you feel very comfortable in the learning environment.” added Ingrid.
The weather wasn’t ideal for photos of the day, but we were rewarded with a great double rainbow toward the end of day 2.

Mountain Experience were delighted to award Gayle M. with a Silver National Navigation Award over the weekend. For various reasons, what should have been a full course was gradually whittled right down to just one candidate. Not to be put off, Gayle benefited from one to one tuition and delivered a creditable performance over the two days.
“The clear instruction and presentation was fun! Nigel is very knowledgeable and makes learning easy.” said Gayle. “I would gladly recommend this course to anyone wishing to develop their skills.”

Four pass NNAS Silver award
Mountain experience are pleased to announce that four clients successfully achieved the National Navigation Award Scheme’s Silver Award. They all showed their ability to navigate safely across mountainous terrain and had a really good time doing so! Day one had some really mixed weather and day two was a real reward with a big sky and great views.The two days involved building on skills they already had and learning a few new tips and tricks to make navigation that much accurate and easier.
The whole experience was summed up when John M said, “The two days have been brilliant!”

6 pass Silver Navigation Award in harsh weather!
Six members of South Wales Mountaineering Club undertook their Silver National Navigation Award this weekend, in really testing conditions.
The group quickly put their skills to the test as the visibility changed from distant views of the English coastline to just a few dozen metres at most! Over the two days, they demonstrated that they could safely plan routes in open country, and navigate to them with pinpoint accuracy.
Following the course, Cari E said, “I Just wanted to say thank you again for a really great course this weekend. I feel like I’ve brushed up well on bits I knew as well as learning quite a few new tools and techniques. The best thing about the course was being able to put all we have learned into practice – in really harsh conditions!”
The next Silver course will be running on the weekend of 7th and 8th December and there just a few places left.
